…Money don’t grow on trees. I got bills to pay, I got mouths to feed, ain’t nothing in this world for free. I know I can’t slow down, I can’t hold back, though you know I wish I could… It’s like Cage the Elephant wrote this song for Kissa and I, lol. A picture speaks a thousand words yet that short chorus pretty much summarizes my life as far as the wedding goes.

My financial situation is complicated. Since July 1st I have been in escrow for a home that we failed to close on because of FHA complications. Crushed, Kissa and I had to start looking for a new home. A week later we find another beautiful home that we opened escrow on [officially] October 19th. What does that mean and how does that relate to your wedding and to your blog, Charlie? I’m glad you asked. While in escrow the bank carefully watches my checking account to monitor my spending and gives them piece of mind that I can maintain my financial responsibility as a [would be] homeowner. Between saving to put a down payment on a home and pay for the wedding, Kissa and I have close to zero disposable income. With my spending on a temporary freeze that means we can’t pay our vendors or venue… Yeah.

Thankfully, EVERYONE has been extremely kind and understanding. Though we didn’t ask for any extensions, and only pray that we close our home before our wonderful vendors lose patience, they gave it to us anyway – more proof that they’re the perfect people to help with our wedding!
