Officiants, Rentals, Flowers, Deocrations, Dress Fittings, Hair Trials, Sponsors – All in a Day’s Work

Phew, the end of June could not come sooner. This month feels like in came and went…V…E…R…Y slowly. It was jam-packed with wedding to do’s. So much so that I think I’m all “wedding’ed” out. And I’m sure my Facebook and Twitter followers might feel the same way. But what can I say! IT’S CRUNCH TIME PEOPLE! And yes, I was typing in caps because I’m yelling! I’m that pumped up! :P

We had a long list of things to do this month. But thankfully, I think we had a good amount of things finished. Let’s recap:

1. Finalize shopping for wedding day accessories – DONE! Bought my shoes (2 pairs actually), my mom updated and gave me her veil, I’m in the process of buying my birdcage veil, and will be borrowing my jewelry from my mom and grandma’s jewelry collection. Charlie also bought his shoes (check out his post here).
2. Schedule engagement session – DONE! I made arrangements for an exciting location(s) that would be perfect for our lifestyle shoot with our photographers, Ja and Bev Tecson. Our fab videographer, Loyd Calomay, will also be joining to catch some of the day as well. We’re really excited! But we still need to prepare. :X
3. Reserve wedding night bridal suite – Okay, so we haven’t done everything on the list. But we’re working on it. We decided we love the look and feel of the Surf and Sand Resort and am working with my aunt to get a great rate from them!
4. Assemble invitations – Nope, not even started. But be proud of me, I ordered the paper! haha. The hardest part of this process was to decide on our sponsors (Primary and Secondary). There are so many special people in our lives that it was hard to narrow it down.
5. Start searching for my “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.” This has been started to, thank goodness! :D Something old – my mom’s veil, something new – TBD, something borrowed – my jewelry the day of the wedding, something blue – my shoes!
6. Purchase necessary ceremony items – A friend of ours, Aileen, gave us a gift before she left to teach abroad in Korea almost a year ago. It was a beautiful jewelry box with our picture on the top of it. She left us a note inside the box and after reading it, I immediately knew that I had to incorporate that box in the wedding somehow. *DING!* Lightbulb went off – ringbearer “pillow” or shall we say ringbearer “box.” Our ringbearer, Colin, will be carrying this box down the aisle. We decided on the rentals for the ceremony – yay! Only things left are the unity sand (we’re doing sand instead of a candle because of the outdoor ceremony), decorations (the items can now be purchased since we finalized the decor), flower girl basket, and the aisle runner.

So on top of that list, we have many more things that we had to get done by the end of the month. I scheduled my dress fitting for the 18th of June. More on that later. We ironed out the details with our officiant, and he has been such a blessing. I had my first hair trial on the 17th. We started all our decor projects and it’s going very well – now that the trial and error is over. There’s more to come, though so that should be interesting. And the only thing left is to contact all my sponsors so we can get moving on this invitations.

PHEW! Can you believe all that happened?! I can’t.
