Hair and Make up – Classic and Elegant

I’ve never been one to really wear make up and fix up my hair every day. I’m more of those “au naturel” kind of girls I suppose, but it’s not because I want to be. There just are not enough hours in the day for me make time to put on some make up. Let me be honest here. I like getting dressed up, no, LOVE getting dressed up. Ever since I was a little girl, I always wanted to wear pretty dresses and ball gowns, wear make up, and sport a tiara – on a regular day. I know, I know, I was a princess. OK FINE. I’m still a princess :P

I guess my taste has changed since I was a little girl haha! But when I pictured myself on my wedding day with my dress and shoes on and my hair done, I wanted it to jive all together in just the right way. I wanted everything to complement each other and not fight too much. I knew that something had to be the main focal point, and the rest were going to play supporting roles. I made the decision that my dress was busy so the dress takes the lead. My hair and make up should be simple, elegant, and timeless. Nothing too drastic, and nothing too natural – something in the in between would be perfect.

I have the opportunity of working with Tara Reyes of Yana Beauty Studio, a friend from high school and college, on my wedding day. Without pictures (sorry Tara!), she was able put together a look I was beyond happy with. It was everything I pictured.
